- Coached throughout career by her mother, Melanie Molitor… Was named her after Martina Navratilova... Began skiing and playing tennis at age 2 – entered first tournaments at 4; moved to Switzerland when she was 8... Voted WTA Newcomer of the Year in 1995, Most Improved Player in 1996 and Player of the Year in 1997... Won WTA Doubles Team of the Year award with four different partners (Novotna, Kournikova, Mirza, L.Chan)... Upon becoming No.1, was immortalized in wax by Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, London... Inducted into International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2013, before launching a doubles/mixed doubles comeback that saw her win 10 more Grand Slam titles, as well as the WTA Finals and a silver medal (w/Bacsinszky) at the Rio Olympics... Daughter, Lia was born on 26 February, 2019... Enjoys horseback riding and has competed at international equestrian events.
